Every year, the Language hosts a beautiful event where students who have successfully completed one of the Cambridge Language Assessment tests, are part of the Language Crew, or have a plus one, can come to see and personally collect their award. The venue is always a beautifully decorated space, featuring many important and memorable people who have contributed to the school's development, supported it, or studied there.
Learning has never been easy; in fact, it is often regarded as extremely challenging. Students are frequently expected to excel academically while engaging in numerous extracurricular activities. It has become somewhat of a norm for young people to learn, study, and succeed in all their endeavours, often without anyone recognising how difficult this can be within a school system that largely prioritises grades. This is why this ceremony holds such significance. It is a celebration of students and pupils who choose learning, even though it is often exhausting and sometimes seems impossible.
This year was no different and showcased just that. Smiling faces and laughter filled the warm halls of Dom Armady in Trencin, the scent of delicious food that is always served there, and the success—not just of the schools, but of everyone there—topping everything like sweet cream on a cake.
If I have to be honest, not only was the vibe throughout the ceremony unbeatable, but so were our students. The number of incredible souls who scored above their expected level was surprisingly high, and the number of young people who received a diploma for their volunteering and are continuing in the Junior Teacher Training Programme was also substantial.
It’s amazing seeing young people being so interested and involved in learning and developing themselves.
Now that you know everything about it, look at the photos and see for yourself! See you next year, in June, on a Sweet Thursday.
